# Kin Ambassadors

> **In short** Members with 250 invited friends who have mined can apply to become Kin Ambassadors. They welcome new people, run their community's official room and keep it safe. Each month they earn 10 $KIN for every friend they invited who mined that month, up to 50,000 $KIN.

Kin grows best when someone nearby shows the way. Ambassadors are members who look after Kin in their country, city or university: they help new people find their feet, in their own language, and keep their community honest and friendly.

## Who can apply

- Members with **250 friends they invited who have mined** at least once.
- Applications are made in Kin ID, on the Invite screen, under **Ambassadors**.
- Every application is **reviewed by the Kin team**.

Every ambassador, and every friend who counts towards their reward, is a real, verified person. Fake accounts never count.

## What ambassadors do

- **Welcome and guide** new members in their language.
- **Run their community's official Kin room**, for a country, a city or a university.
- **Share accurate information** about Kin, and help translate it.
- **Report scams and fake accounts** so they can be removed quickly.
- **Host meetups and events**, online or in person.

## What ambassadors get

- An **Ambassador badge** on their profile and next to their name in chat.
- Their community's **official room** in Kin ID.
- **Monthly $KIN** for the friends they bring who keep mining (below).
- A **Top Ambassadors** leaderboard, by country.
- **Early access** to new Kin products, such as Kin OAuth and Kin Pass.

### Lead Ambassadors

Each country has one **Lead Ambassador**, chosen by the Kin team from its ambassadors. A Lead Ambassador earns **double** the monthly reward: 20 $KIN for each friend who mined, up to 100,000 $KIN a month.

## Monthly rewards

Each month, an ambassador earns **10 $KIN for each friend they invited who mined that month**, up to **50,000 $KIN a month**. The reward is claimed in the app after the month ends.

This is on top of everything every member earns from inviting, described in [Invites and teams](./invites). Ambassador rewards come from the Mining and rewards share, like every other reward.

## Standards

- **No fake accounts, bought installs or spam.** Breaking this rule ends the role.
- **60 days without activity pauses the badge**, until the ambassador is active again.
- The Kin team **reviews ambassadors every month** and can remove the badge.

## How to apply

1. Reach **250 friends you invited who have mined**.
2. Open **Invite** in Kin ID.
3. Tap **Become an ambassador** and tell us about your community.
4. The Kin team **reviews your application within a week**.

## Why it's designed this way

- **Paid on friends who actually mine, not on sign ups.** A friend counts in a month only if they mined that month. Creating accounts earns nothing; bringing people who stay does.
- **Human verification.** Every account is one real person, so a crowd of fake friends can't be built up to farm the reward. See [Keeping it fair](./fairness).
- **A cap.** 50,000 $KIN a month keeps the program fair and keeps the Mining and rewards share lasting.
- **People review people.** The Kin team looks at every application and checks in every month, so the badge stays a sign of trust.
